Dear Friends of Blaine & González,
Today, the Trump Administration has declared an end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This is a sad day in the history of our nation. America is a nation founded on the hard work, dedication, and strength of immigrants from all over the world. True Americans welcome and embrace cultural diversity and all its wonders: the glorious food, inspiring music, deeply-felt poetry, illuminating literature, fun and exciting dance, cool clothing styles, and all the other trappings of a multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-cultural society. I am writing today not as CEO if Blaine & González, but as a father of a 4-month old baby girl whose mother is a Hispanic immigrant. I think of all those families that brought their children to this country seeking a better life, children that became an integral part of our society. Children who in many cases have not known any other country but the United States, that all they want is to study, work, and contribute to the society that has seen them grow up. I am filled with a mix of sadness and rage seeing how our president wants to ruin the path of hundreds of thousands young lives. This, friends, is wrong. Plain and simple. Blaine & González stands in solidarity with our contractors of all races from all over the world; with our Hispanic friends and family; and with all those Americans of reason, compassion, and love who would see a world without discrimination, and a world that does not judge people from where they are from, but on the content of their character and what is in their hearts. Sincerely and in Solidarity, Justin Pickering CEO Blaine & González
